Who we are

Childminding is a unique profession. We usually work from our homes, and it affects our families and friends. As much as we love what we do and the children and families we provide care for, at times it can feel like our whole lives are overtaken. It’s not easy out there and that means hard-pressed childminders need a strong, responsive organisation that provides real support and holds regulators to account.

The National Union of Childminders (NUC) is designed specifically for childminders, by childminders, to provide the support, advocacy, and protection that is currently lacking in existing networks. In additional to offering practical support and advice if your registration is suspended or cancelled by Ofsted, the Care Inspectorate, the Care and Social Services Inspectorate or the Health and Social Care Trust, you disagree with an inspection judgment, you have a complaint, or you are facing a complaint or challenge with a parent/ child, we plan to also provide CPD webinars, advice lines and templates.
